(Sun) Rising to the Occasion

Alarm clocks rang early for some as about half the group made a quick walk to some nearby cliffs to see the sunrise. We enjoyed watching the roaring ocean crash against the cliffs, even getting some of the group wet. We also couldn't waste an opportunity for Aiden to take some terrific photographs with the beautiful backdrop.

After breakfast we broke into our research groups and got to work. Some groups headed out to collect more data, even if it meant facing impressive waves at Rocky Point to measure some sea fans. Others who already had some data got to work on analyzing it. Data collection and and analyzation continued after lunch until we convened in the lab for class. During class we discussed two scientific papers, about sponges and dolphins. Speaking of dolphins, a few us Lutes caught a glimpse of some dolphins at Graham's Harbour across from the research center, this afternoon. We ended our day much like it began, with a stunning sky.
